'Coaching Beyond Four Walls'
Step outside traditional settings and into a refreshing new approach to recovery. I have many years experience in coaching outdoors and truly believe in the power of nature to foster healing, clarity, and sustainable growth. Discover how 'Coaching beyond four walls' can transform your recovery journey.

What is "Coaching beyond four walls"?
'Coaching beyond four walls' is about liberating the recovery process from conventional settings. It's an innovative approach that leverages the therapeutic benefits of nature and the outdoors – whether a quiet park, a scenic viewpoint, or a tranquil lakeside – to create a dynamic, engaging environment for personal growth.
Unlike traditional coaching settings, the natural world becomes a co-facilitator, offering unique perspectives, grounding, and reducing the formality often associated with indoor sessions. This fosters a profound sense of freedom, openness, and connection, enabling deeper reflection and more impactful breakthroughs.

What are the benefits?
Wilderness therapy is widely acknowledged as a natural means of promoting physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Much scientific evidence has been gathered from the Japanese study of Shinrin-Yoku or 'Forest bathing', which was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventative health care and healing in Japanese medicine since.
Researchers primarily in Japan and South Korea, have established a robust body of scientific literature on the health benefits of spending time in the natural world.
Here in the UK. Wilderness therapy is beginning to be recognised by medical organisations such as the NHS who are now rolling out ‘Green Prescribing’ after lengthy trials across the UK.

Your journey, your experience.
I'm totally flexible in how you want your recovery journey to look and feel like. If you would prefer to start in more traditional settings before moving the conversation outdoors then this is easily arranged.
'Coaching beyond four walls' could be a quiet walk through a nature reserve, a low level hike in the National Park, or even canoeing on one of the many lakes combined with bushcraft activities these half-day sessions (up to 4 hours) allow for deep reflection away from the noise and distractions of daily life.
Note: I provide all safety equipment (where necessary) and transport from a designated meeting point close to Penrith.
"Taking my recovery journey outdoors with Greg was a revelation. The fresh air and natural surroundings brought a new level of peace and perspective I hadn't found in traditional settings. It was truly transformative!"
